The January FRIENDS JOURNAL has an article on AFSC, "A Holy Experiment in the
Interior:" At the end of the article there is "Speaking Bitterness." The
paragraph that begins, "Saving the world is serious work;" may be instructive.

Who would be hurt if AFSC no longer has our support or were to be laid down?
Will we understand what happened at AFSC if it is laid down? Will we know how
to better support Quaker process in our wider Quaker organizations in the
future? How will Quakers bring peace out of the strife and conflict in their
own back yard?
