SAYMA's '99 FWCC Census 
Counts Over 1360 Friends

<|>  27 Monthly Meetings, Preparative Meetings, and Worship Groups were
"censed" via a survey handed out in April, '99, and reported a total of
1,362 members and regular attenders, both adult and under 18.

<|>  Surveys went to 33 MM/WGs appearing on one or another "SAYMA" list.
Six of these are not represented in the totals below because either (a)
they're affiliated with another Yearly Meeting, or (b) they haven't
responded to office communications since at least March, leaving some doubt
whether they're actively meeting.

<|>  -- 63% of MM/WGs had reported by June 9, '99 (Yearly Meeting)
       -- 33% more MM/WGs responded to e-mail requests for reports in August

<|>  In all, 26 of 27 MM/WGs (96%)  reported a count of members &/or regular
attenders.  One WG didn't respond and a count for it was estimated from the
'98 SAYMA Directory and its '99 State of the Meeting report.

(This count is requested yearly by Friends World Committee for Consultation.
FWCC was established in 1937, with the role of enabling 304,000 Friends and
their yearly meetings in 70+ countries to work cooperatively.)
