Friends,
I heard about this Act for the first time on NPR's All Things Considered this afternoon, and a red flag went up.
If you have not come across this pending legislation yet, you need to investigate it thoroughly.
Its sponsors in both houses--Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO)--claim that its main intent is to save states the cost of consent decrees resulting from Medicaid suits.
However, its actual scope covers ALL consent decrees. That means mental health, disability, prison reform, etc.
