stuff

I moved my cat to town yesterday. Remembering past moves, I'm impressed at how quickly he's accepted his new environment. Probably quicker than I, to tell the truth.

I had a nice productive session on Tuesday and finally got the debian-edu sarge CD build system into a state I fully understand, and that is fully checked into various cvs repositories. I even have my local mirror set up, and can build CDs from it, which will cut my test cycle for those images in half or more.

d-i has not been going so nicely; I've not had time to test it at all lately until today, and today I tried new images built from the udebs in sarge, and found numerous problems with pcmcia and elsewhere, some of them due to version skew. I'm currently very dispirited about how the udeb propigation to sarge has been working out, it seems its been a lot of work and complexity for no gain.

Random thought for the day: It's weird to hang out on irc with someone for years, and know them by their unique nickname, which you've never heard before, and then stumble accross the peice of fiction that that nickname comes from. Both the suprise of finding out that the nickname was not made up, and the way that nickname has come to mean exclusively that person, and suddenly doesn't anymore. I should ask more people where they got their irc nicks.
