I'm hoping to do some screecasts on various technical subjects. As I do them, they will appear here.
This 15 minute screencast builds on the first, showing how to use a setup file to make ikiwiki support web edits via CGI, and how to use git with ikiwiki. This covers the second half of ikiwiki's tutorial.

Posted late Monday night, November 27th, 2007This 10 minute screencast demos how to set up a simple wiki and blog using ikiwiki. It covers approximatly the first half of ikiwiki's tutorial.
Apologies for the slow typing in places; I did this without a script! (I'm a two finger typist, if you must know. ;-)

Posted Monday evening, November 26th, 2007So far, I'm using byzanz to record my screencasts as animated gifs (which are then converted to ogg theora), and typing commentary as I go instead of speaking. I don't have a good microphone. My window manager shown in these screencasts, in case you're curious, is ion.
Handy command reference:
byzanz-record --cursor -w 640 -h 480 screencast.gif --duration=3600
mkfifo stream.yuv
mplayer -vo yuv4mpeg -ao null -nosound screencast.gif &
ffmpeg2theora stream.yuv
