William Livingston (1799-1888) was born in Port on Monteith, Perthshire, Scotland and immigrated to Canada with his wife Isabella Bremner in 1821. William and Isabella settled in the Lanark County area of Ontario before moving to the Renfrew County area of Ontario.

One of William's grandsons, James Naismith Livingstone immigrated from Canada to the United States and would end up settling in Washington State.
