Become a workshop facilitator with Alternatives to Violence Project!

Ø Have you taken one or more AVP workshops?

Ø Are you interested in serving on teams to facilitate AVP community, prison or youth workshops? 

Ø Attend AVP Atlanta’s Training for Facilitators workshop to become an Apprentice Facilitator! 



When:  October 17-18  9:30am-5:30pm  (Saturday & Sunday)  

Where: Columbia Theological Seminary, 701 S. Columbia Dr, Decatur, GA 30030 

Why:  To learn how to facilitate AVP workshops and become an apprentice facilitator.

What:  Learn facilitation skills and how to plan and deliver  AVP workshops as part of a facilitation team.  

How:  Two day workshop where participants learn how to facilitate interactive exercises, games and role-plays that teach new ways to find alternatives to violence .   (Lunch is provided)   

Who:  Open to anyone who has attended at least one full AVP workshop.* 

Cost:   Suggested donation: $20.00 to help with our food and materials costs + $12 to receive your AVP Basic Workshop facilitator’s manual. All facilitators at AVP workshops are unpaid volunteers.

*The AVP Workshop series consists of 3 workshops:   Basic, Advanced and Training 4 Facilitators. Those who complete all three workshops are eligible to apprentice on workshop facilitation teams and to become AVP facilitators.  This T4F workshop is open to anyone who has earned their Basic certificate. You must complete two full AVP workshops (Basic and Advanced) to start Apprenticing as an AVP facilitator- these can be completed out of sequence.


SAVE THE DATES! Not eligible for T4F yet or needing to complete an Advanced workshop after attending the T4F? AVP-ATL will host a Basic/Advanced hyprid workshop on January 30-31 in Atlanta (exact location TBA). All are welcome to attend the January workshop-  email Heather to register!
