Birmingham Friends Meeting invites SAYMA Friends to a workshop on draft 
counseling, Saturday, February 21, 2004.


TRAINING SESSION FOR NEW GI RIGHTS HOTLINE COUNSELORS--Draft
Counseling

4413 5TH AVENUE  SOUTH, BIRMINGHAM, AL 35222

Birmingham Friends Meeting (Quakers) is hosting a free one day training
session for people who would like to help on the GI Rights
Hotline. The training is designed for people who have no experience.

The GI Rights Hotline (www.girights.org) is a witness for peace. It is
administered by the Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors and
provides information to members of the military about discharges,
grievance and complaint procedures. 
Training includes:

        OVERVIEW OF DISCHARGES

        ETHICS AND COUNSELING SKILLS

        WHAT ITS LIKE TO TAKE CALLS ON THE HOTLINE

        DRAFT COUNSELING

INSTRUCTOR:     STEVE WOOLFORD
