Student-Led Projects

Something that’s often left out of the scientific process for undergraduates today is the role of study design.  You want to work on something, but no one around you is interested!

In my work, I like to encourage students to follow their own direction in research.  Of course, there are certain directions I can’t help students travel in.  But for a lot of things, the joy of new knowledge and new discovery helps propel both the student and the professor forward.  I look forward to the challenge of charting a new way!

I am open to working with students as they find something we are both really interested in studying together.  Let’s reclaim some of the excitement of science we all had when we first learned about it.  Want to know how something works, but it hasn’t already been explored?  Let’s see what we can find out as a team!
